1. Overview

You can get married if you're:

  • 16 or over
  • free to marry (single, divorced or widowed)

You need permission from your parents or guardians if you're under 18 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Bride needs consent from father OR Paternal Grandfather OR Guardian (if father and grandfather are not alive or estranged) if this is the bride's first marriage.

How does ShiaJamaat assist you with your Nikaah?

ShiaJamaat can assist you by liaising with our registered alim to conduct your Nikaah and subsequently the organisation can issue the religious Nikaah Certificate.

You can also choose to have the Nikaah ceremony conducted by the alim of your choice, provided the alim is registered with us. The organisation will register the alim if the alim contacts the organisation directly.

We even provide the service of Kalema Ceremony before the Nikaah ceremony, if your spouse is not a Muslim but agrees to convert. Check our services for Assistance in conversion to Islam

You need to mention all the services you require at least 14 days before the ceremony while contacting us. Any dates of less than two weeks may incur additional fees.

Nikaah Certificate fee

Fee for Nikaah Certificate is £75.  Fees are non-refundable.

The above Nikaah Certificate fee DOES NOT include the hadya of the Aalim/s reciting the Nikaah for you. You need to directly negotiate with the alim for the time and the fee for conducting the ceremony.
